Senior Project Development Manager (Hamburg/Berlin, Germany)
Circular Search is seeking a Senior Project Development Manager, to be based in Hamburg or Berlin, for a dynamic renewable energy developer. This role is an excellent opportunity to shape the future of renewable energy development, focusing on utility-scale solar PV, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and Power-to-X projects in Germany.
Roles and responsibilities:
Project Development: Oversee the development of large-scale renewable energy projects. This includes finalising land acquisition and lease agreements, site control, financial modeling, zoning, permitting, surveys, studies, and coordination with engineering and interconnection teams.
Negotiation and Coordination: Engage in negotiations for Energy-off-takes (PPA), contribute to the improvement of development deliverables, and build relationships with local stakeholders (Utilities, Municipalities, Landowners, etc.).
Risk Management: Assess and mitigate risks of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with development services agreements.
Reporting and Budgeting: Lead steering committee sessions, report progress to investors, manage the portfolio development budget, and prepare reports for internal committees.
Your profile:
Experience: Minimum 6+ years of experience in renewable energy project development, with a focus on complex technical projects in Germany.
Educational Background: Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Project Management.
Skills: Strong project management skills, technical understanding of solar technology, effective planning, organization, and decision-making abilities.
Personal Traits: Entrepreneurial mindset, rigorous, autonomous, agile, strong communication and negotiation skills, adaptable to different situations.
Language Proficiency: Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, and Office Suite.
Travel Requirement: Regular travel to project sites and meetings with stakeholders.
